Citation Detail: From: conrad bryan ; Sent: 29 May 2021 09:35; To: email address; Subject: Re: DOWLING ONE NAME STUDY - Heraldry; Hi Brian, Edward Dowling is my great great grandfather ( maternal line) his father was John Dowling, and married Margaret Leonard. My great grand father was also called Edward , so he would have got the name from his grandad. The further I go back it’s more difficult. I am not in touch with the family in Ireland as I was put up for adoption but Im in touch with a cousin, also based in England, who is also working on her Bryan family tree. John Dowling (1805) as far as I know married a Mary Kelly in Maryborough/Portlaoise in 1828. This I believe these are Edward Dowlings parents as Edwards first son was John. So I’ve been trying to validate this as there is another Edward in Marybough but born to a Hugh and we have no Hughs as a Christian name in our family. What ranch of Dowling are you in and did you do a GED dna upload? I’m in there. Any help with validating the Dowling 1805 connections would be great. Best wishes , Conrad,
