I cannot believe you turned around that much data and commentary in so short a time. Thank you very much for your time and interest in our branch of the family.

Yes, John Dowling was RC and probably not wealthy but he did survive the famine somehow. He is listed as a Labourer in the several censuses we have records for so no disguinished career, other siblings not known, and family rank not known.

The parents names came from John's Canadian records for his marriage and death. I have a Canadian researcher doing the leg work as I live and work in Florida. I have copies of marriage and death regs as well as his will. Yes, he was illiterate as shown by the X on his will.

What I do have is 30 some years of residence in Hamilton Ontario as a Labourer; we think at the local steel mill. He owned two houses at his death and had six children all of whom it seems have done well. Most all of the family attended St. Mary Cathedral and are buried in the same cemetery. We are contacting the living descendants to glean as much as possible relative to the location in Ireland and other data.

You mentioned the Freiling name as a possible chance against the "haystacks" of data. I agree and will keep you informed of the developments for your master data base. The family name changes are as follows:

I cannot believe you turned around that much data and commentary in so short a time. Thank you very much for your time and interest in our branch of the family.

Yes, John Dowling was RC and probably not wealthy but he did survive the famine somehow. He is listed as a Labourer in the several censuses we have records for so no disguinished career, other siblings not known, and family rank not known.

The parents names came from John's Canadian records for his marriage and death. I have a Canadian researcher doing the leg work as I live and work in Florida. I have copies of marriage and death regs as well as his will. Yes, he was illiterate as shown by the X on his will.

What I do have is 30 some years of residence in Hamilton Ontario as a Labourer; we think at the local steel mill. He owned two houses at his death and had six children all of whom it seems have done well. Most all of the family attended St. Mary Cathedral and are buried in the same cemetery. We are contacting the living descendants to glean as much as possible relative to the location in Ireland and other data.

You mentioned the Freiling name as a possible chance against the "haystacks" of data. I agree and will keep you informed of the developments for your master data base. The family name changes are as follows:

He returned to St Martin's Isl. and married a Mary Ellen Flanagan in 1868-9. Nmaes of children (possibly family names) Catherine,
Agnes, Elizabeth, Grace, Edna, Margaret
and John. I don't know wether he came directly from Ireland or through or from Canada.... help ! Help. Contact me at
