Funeral Home Obituary:
Dowling - Lois Rewis Dowling, age 87, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008. Ms. Dowling was born in Baker County Florida to the late Lonnie Rewis Sr. and Bessie Benton Rewis on August 30, 1920. Ms. Dowling was a life long resident of Baker County and worked for ten years in the cafeteria of North East Florida State Hospital. She was a member of Calvary Baptist church and loved to cook and to spend time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband of forty nine years, Horace J. Dowling, her son Horace Douglas Dowling and her in-laws: Jack J. Dowling and Lalia Crews Dowling. Family members include her daughter Nona Gail Combs (Wayne) of Macclenny, FL; her sister, Lula Bennett of Taylor, FL; her grandchildren: Robert Wayne Combs (Kristen) of Atlanta Georgia, Victor Hugh Combs (Mechi) of Atlanta, GA and Douglas Reagan Combs (Suzanna) of Chicago, Illinois and her five great grandchildren: Tristan, Jessie, Jaden, Mackenzie and Ian Combs. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Ferreira Funeral Services Parlor . The arrangements are under the care and direction of V. TODD FERREIRA FUNERAL SERVICES, 250 North Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063 (904)259-5700.
