She spent most of her religious life in the Bon Secour Order in Cork and died there on 25th November 1992. The 1911 census taken on 02/04/1911 shows Elizabeth to have been one month old.

She worked for some time at the hospital in Cork Street Dublin but spent the bulk of her career at Peamount hospital where she was a Nursing Sister. She spent the last few years of her working life at the Nursing Home in Mountmellick from which she retired

He died 18 February 1994. My mother was Nora Kelly, born 22 May 1923. The Kelly family lived at Dunamase (site of the ancient castle the Rock of Dunamase). They married in 1951. All of those families are now deceased but there’s no shortage of cousins both here in Laois and all over. My father’s brother, Jim, had fourteen children. I am the youngest of eight children, born in 1964. We grew up in Derrydavy and one of my brothers continues to live there. Most of us still live in county Laois although my sister is in the US and one brother lives in Belfast. I have heard of the Clonreher connection before. The castle is just outside of Portlaoise and not very far from Derrydavy. Based on your Mountrath family, any connection would predate available records. But no doubt there is a connection if we could go back far enough. By the way, there is also an English name Dowling which has no connection with the Irish name. The original Irish name is O’Dunlaing also spelt as O’Dubhlainn (pronounced Doolan) and was anglicized as Dowling. Regards, Francis.,
