Relative Pat Dowling said on 6 September 2025, "The Keogh family do not appear to have been involved in any military activities during the Irish War for Independence and subsequent Civil War. Patrick Keogh was one of many Wexford men who came to Dublin to work in the distillery on Thomas street / John's Lane, now the NCAD (National College of Art and Design). The distillery was owned by the Power family (Powers Whiskey) of Edermine House in Wexford. The Powers employed local Wexford men in the distillery and I was told that those of them who were salmon fishermen on the Slaney were given leave to go home to fish during the salmon season! I know someone who's father, now deceased, came from Wexford to Dublin to work in the distillery. He was long retired when he was asked if he knew Mary Keogh, #56802, amazingly he could remember two of her brothers."
