Find-a-Grave Obituary:- Margaret was the daughter of Michael W. Whitmore (1788-a1851) and Ann Shepherd (1786-b1840). Her siblings were Elizabeth Whitmore, Catherine Whitmore Harrison (c1815-1895), Michael W. Whitmore Jr (c1818-b1860) and John Henry Whitmore.

Margaret Whitmore was first married to William Roberts Beveridge on 23 Dec 1830, John Littlejohn officiating. (Her husband could be John R. or William R. Both are listed in the marriage returns, same date. However, my mother remembers him being referrred to as "Uncle Billy Beveridge".) William died just before, or about the time of their son, Michael's, birth.

The widow Beveridge then married Alfred Dulin with Samuel Gover, Methodist Episcopal, officiating on 14 Sep 1843, Shelburne Parish. She and Alfred had six children, only two of whom survived to adulthood.

Find a Grave Obituary:- George Cephas was the 2nd of six children of Alfred and Margaret Whitmore DULIN. His spouse, Maria Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hammerly, mother of their six children, is buried next to him in Union Cemetery, and five of their children are buried here in Union Cemetery.

The family home was known as Greenfield Farm, an historic Loudoun County property given them about 1882 by Lizzie's father John William Hammerly.

An obituary contained the following extract: "Mr. George Cephus Dulin, one of Loudoun's most esteemed and respected citizens, died at his home near Sycolin Church, early this morning, after an illness of several months duration. Mr. Dulin, who was in his seventy-ninth year, was born and reared and spent his entire life in Loudoun county. At the time of his death he was a director of the Loudoun National Bank of Leesburg and for many years was a school trustee for Leesburg district. He was a prosperous and progressive farmer, respected by all who knew him and beloved by all who came in close contact with him."
