Shown as residing in Roskelton in 1911 Census Return. It is believed that the Census return incorrectly shows her as a daughter when she was sister to Head of the Household brother Michael.
There is a discrepancy on the ages given in the Census Returns of 1901 and 1911.
1901 Return gives Lizzie's age as 26 years (date of birth: 1875)
1911 Return gives Elizabeth's age as 42 years (date of birth: 1869)
In 1911 two Boarders were shown: Isabella McDonnell a 64 year old retired Farmer's Widow born in England and Patrick Ryan a 7 year old scholar. Both were shown as Roman Catholic.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. It will be nice to have your hand to hold while I go thru this frustrating search.
Today I xeroxed a package of materials to send my sisters, and cousins, well at least 6 people I think may be interested. It included the page from the baptism microfilm, and enlargement of same, enlargements of the lines (names) I copied thru the light table, map of Ireland showing Queens/Leix/Laois, marriage certificate of my great grandparents which lists their parents, a close up map showing Cappanarrow near Roscrea, and an old parish map showing the concentration of the name Patrick Phelan that I derived from the Griffith's Evaluation for Queens.
John Phelan, my great-grandfather shows his marriage date as Aug 18, 1875 in Massachusetts, 3rd marriage, parents Patrick Phelan and Mary ---. His age is given as 38. Counting back that looks like 1837 for birthdate. On another form it looks like he has written his birthdate as June 1837 (may be a census form), anyway the age he gives on the 1880 census agrees that he was born in 1837. So the baptism line I picked up for him (possibly) goes like this:

<The reason I do not know if Brigit was his first or second wife had to do with information that his granddaughter passed on to me. She must have only been 6 or 7 when he died. I also talked with her brother Joe who had also know John Phelan as a child, and was probably 4 years old when he died. Anyway the information was to some degree right and wrong. They though John's father was named John and they said he came over when he was 17 and then got mixed up and wasn't sure. And that the father died on the ship. As I said previously my sister and I have not been able to find them on a ship list. Also immigration papers say he came in 1857 and his marriage and census documents give his birth as 1837 and his father as Patrick. They also mentioned that his wife was Mary E. Welsh and I had that actually carved into a gravestone I had made up for him! Then found on documents her name was really Mary A. Welsh (unless document is wrong). Also I estimated his birth and death dates from what they told me and I had C. 1832-1908 carved in to the stone. How embarrassing now to find out I was close but wrong! I only hope some future descendant doesn't come across the stone and think it is complete FACT! So that is a long story to explain why I interjected the initial for Mary Welsh. Also they told me he went back to Ireland to get his wife and children. If he was married in late 1856 and arrived in USA in summer of 1857, I don't believe he could have had many children, right? That is why I am not ruling out a previous marriage in Ireland, although he would have to have been quite young. So anyway talking to his granddaughter who was probably the age of my present granddaughter sort of puts things in to perspective as I can't even imagine someone asking her for information on her grandfather who died before she was born and have her come up with accurate information! Anyway she told me he had 2 daughters who married and left for Ohio, no way to trace them yet, or even prove they existed. She said his sons died of TB as did his wife. Still doesn't explain which wife 1 or 2 or which wife 1 or 2 had which children. The census shows 3 sons, 2 would have been from a previous marriage, 1 or 2---Patrick and Henry, and a young son Michael J. (Mary Welsh mother of Michael J.) who apparently dies as a child. Then he has 2 daughters by Mary Welsh, my grandmother Katherine A. and a sister. I will have to get these dates for you later if you don't mind. Katherine marries into a Rogers family and her sister marries into a Danahy family. I am not sure if I have information that is accurate on these families. They all lived on the east coast of USA and we lived on west coast of USA. Only met my grandmother when I was a baby and have only met one aunt on that side of the family.
