I bought the book entitled, Bill Doolin outlaw O.T. several years ago and found that there are many incorrect statements in the book. It clearly States that the father of Michael was Barton. The father of Michael was John and Ceaty Rowe Doolin. I have the will of John in which he names his children.

Michael's wife Mary was not of the Ruebettom & Cooksey families she was Mary Elizabeth Stephens. She did not die in 1850. She left Michael and after she had been gone a year he sued her for divorce. It became final in July 1855. I have these court records.Michael & Mary were married in Butler County Ky. in 1829. They came to Madison Co. Mo. to claim the farm that Mary had inherited from her parents, Jackey (John)
Bowman and Elizabeth (Taylor) Stephens. This line goes back to Peter Stephens who started Harper's Ferry in 1733, then sold it to Harper. I have been collecting records on these two families for several years and all are documented.

Hi, Theola:

This Thomas Dula/Dooly was born ca. 1751-57 in Orange Co., Va., married in 1779 to Lucy Webb in Henry Co., Va., then moved with some brothers and sister to Wilkes Co., NC. He stayed there some years and eventually moved to Elbert Co., Ga. where he is found by 1801/04. He moved again some years later to Habersham Co., Ga. where he died after 1830.
------------------------------
The 1860 Habersham Co., Ga., census lists some Doolys which I cannot place. Can someone tell he how they fit in, please. Thanks, Maria.
Dooly, Lindsay J., 32, b. GA
Martha W., 23, b. GA
James T., 6, b. GA
Mary R., 4, b. GA
Patience F., 1, b. GA

Dooly, Thomas, 72, b. VA (no others in household) (note; If this is Thomas Dooly, son of Thomas and Lucy (Webb) Dula, Jr., it is very interesting to note the indicated birth place of VA for this man. All accounts I have seen from the Dooley Group say he was b. Wilkes Co., NC. Of course, census records are not always reliable. However, if Thomas was their son and if he was born in VA, that would indicate that the family remained for a longer period in VA than originally believed before moving to Wilkes Co., NC.)
Dooly, Thomas J., 30, b. GA
Mary E., 27, b. GA
James W., 8, b. GA
William H., 6, b. GA

Dooly, Benjamin F., 25, b. GA
Nancy, 27, b. GA
Felix W., 6, b. GA
Louisa, 4/12, b. GA

Dooly, Jesse, 64, b. GA
