Sorry it’s taken a while to get back to you I’ve had some family commitments to attend to. My mother was Olga Rosemary Drysdale her fathers father changing his name from Enright. His father Irish American from New York. An Edward Sheehan Enright who came here to Australia to lay cable for telegraph so history tells us. My grandfathers (mums fathers) mother thought is the link to the dowelings she was born a Caffery and her mother Mary’s maiden name Dowling. I believe Martin Dowling to be Marie’s father who was Anastasia’s husband. Mum died about 11 years ago she is cremated at Dubbo. Anastasia and her husband Martin may have been his name? I get confused as some of the sons were of similar or same names for generations. As well as Anastasia or Anna for short. I think are buried in Dubbo, I grew up about three hours from Dubbo and yet mum never spoke of her family history. Dubbo has a street named after one the Dowling and deputy mail was a lady who married into the family. I did not delve too much into family history until around 2010. Mums cousin had received information and photos from her Aunt. Mums cousin was very nice and shared with me the history she had learnt and researched from the information of my great Aunt (also named Olga), Mum was named after her Aunt. However the link is from Bridget Caffery’s mums paternal grandmother and her maternal grandmother was Anastasia Dowling . Hope this makes sense. The Dowling were well known in the area, one a famous poet who set up the Royal Far West Children’s Charity fir dick children snd it still has a links today although it’s changed and is known as another charity. We have a photo with Anastasia in it and the family. They were upstanding people in the district and did well in setting up cameras mummifies here. Anastasia’s maiden name was Walsh. I have been told Kilkenny was one of the places where our ancestors originated from but mostly the family hasn’t knowledge of anything further back than the arrival of Anastasia and I’ll see if I can send you an outline of the family history from the 1940s arrival in Australia that mums cousin kindly gave me. The Abbott was mention on an online Ancients page by someone Dowling that I saw a while ago. They write to me but I can’t find the page now. I’m was a Dowling web page on Ancestory,com but they went right back through history to the earliest of histories. I do remember being amazed at the effort the had gone to on their website. Sorry it’s taken a while to get back to you I’ve had some family commitments to attend to. My mother was Olga Rosemary Drysdale her fathers father changing his name from Enright. His father Irish American from New York. An Edward Sheehan Enright who came here to Australia to lay cable for telegraph so history tells us. My grandfathers (mums fathers) mother thought is the link to the dowelings she was born a Caffery and her mother Mary’s maiden name Dowling. I believe Martin Dowling to be Marie’s father who was Anastasia’s husband. Mum died about 11 years ago she is cremated at Dubbo. Anastasia and her husband Martin may have been his name? I get confused as some of the sons were of similar or same names for generations. As well as Anastasia or Anna for short. I think are buried in Dubbo, I grew up about three hours from Dubbo and yet mum never spoke of her family history. Dubbo has a street named after one the Dowling and deputy mail was a lady who married into the family. I did not delve too much into family history until around 2010. Mums cousin had received information and photos from her Aunt. Mums cousin was very nice and shared with me the history she had learnt and researched from the information of my great Aunt (also named Olga), Mum was named after her Aunt. However the link is from Bridget Caffery’s mums paternal grandmother and her maternal grandmother was Anastasia Dowling . Hope this makes sense. The Dowling were well known in the area, one a famous poet who set up the Royal Far West Children’s Charity fir dick children snd it still has a links today although it’s changed and is known as another charity. We have a photo with Anastasia in it and the family. They were upstanding people in the district and did well in setting up cameras mummifies here. Anastasia’s maiden name was Walsh. I have been told Kilkenny was one of the places where our ancestors originated from but mostly the family hasn’t knowledge of anything further back than the arrival of Anastasia and I’ll see if I can send you an outline of the family history from the 1940s arrival in Australia that mums cousin kindly gave me. The Abbott was mention on an online Ancients page by someone Dowling that I saw a while ago. They write to me but I can’t find the page now. I’m was a Dowling web page on Ancestory,com but they went right back through history to the earliest of histories. I do remember being amazed at the effort the had gone to on their website.
