31 August 2016:- Total 56,710 including living. A bit of time spent on rationalising some of the DNA pages and adding a few sources to existing people.

30 August 2016:- Total 56,701 including living. Sunday Triple Back-Up.  A few New York sources and some Find a Grave entries with nice gravestones (some Find a Grave entries have no sources at all).  Then wen to a concert in a park.

29 August 2016:- Total 56,697 including living. A bit of time unsuccessfully looking for clues in Ireland, then tidied up a DNA line and added some New York census sources.

28 August 2016:- Total 56,675 including living. Some New York censuses on this line which has changed Haplogroup,  The family has changed from Dowling to Dolan and back to Dowling.  This may be a literacy thing but here's hoping DNA can shed light.  Tweaked the relevant DNA haplogroup entries too.

27 August 2016:- Total 56,662 including living. Looking at online connections of this line to Ireland but those I see are unsourced at the critical point.  I may leave it at this if I cannot find something that connects.

26 August 2016:- Total 56,643 including living. Topping and tailing the Pennsylvania line but doing a lot of hunting and not finding for Irish origin.

25 August 2016:- Total 56,628 including living.  Some non-Dowlings added for context and future help in making sure we have the right people.  A lot of people added but some are just frameworks to support non-Dowling viewers.

24 August 2016:- Total 56,596 including living.  More Pennsylvanians... coming to a close on this branch soon but they have been quite prolific and a good number with World War 2 military service.

23 August 2016:- Total 56,555 including living.  Sunday Triple Back Up.  Lots of Pennsylvania Dowling's added which should provide a wide catchment for DNA matches.

22 August 2016:- Total 56,509 including living.  A good few Dowlings and frameworks of related non-Dowlings to build a picture of a branch in Pennsylvania, this group should allow a catch if one of the recent family members takes a DNA test.

21 August 2016:- Total 56,447 including living.  More Find a Graves and a few lengthy email replies on Pennsylvania Dowlings from somewhere in Ireland.  With the immigrant being John Dowling/Dolan this will require a stroke of luck to get the certainty needed.

20 August 2016:- Total 56,411 including living.  Pennsylvania Find a Grave entries including some 'framework' entries for related non-Dowlings.

19 August 2016:- Total 56,388 including living.  Pennsylvania and New York Find a Grave entries.

18 August 2016:- Total 56,365 including living. More Pennsylvania censuses,  and time deciphering a long email.

17 August 2016:- Total 56,353 including living. More Pennsylvanians from the censuses, picking up as much detail as I can to see if I can make the leap to a county in Ireland.

16 August 2016:- Total 56,336 including living. Sunday Triple Back Up.  Pennsylvania people mostly added having pretty much identified the Raymond in question who's father was already in the system.

15 August 2016:- Total 56,310 including living. Pennsylvania censuses in search of a Raymond Dowling.  Added some elimination Raymonds I believe and their families gathered in the process.

14 August 2016:- Total 56,264 including living.  Some Philadelphia census entries and tidying up.  It is so oppressively hot, I find it hard to breath the hot air and concentrate.  Hottest year in UK so far and no rain for 2 months here.

13 August 2016:- Total 56,237 including living. Philadelphia census entries pending correspondence reply.

12 August 2016:- Total 56,214 including living.  Some DNA checking on a correspondence to no avail.

10 August 2016:- Total 56,214 including living.  Followed a Birmingham Dowling family back to Dowland in Dorset.

9 August 2016:- Total 56,198 including living.  Sunday Triple Back Up.

8 August 2016:- Total 56,196 including living.  Even more Birmingham Dowling's and a start of a family there from Dorset.

7 August 2016:- Total 56,181 including living.  Hot day, not much done.  A Birmingham census or two.

6 August 2016:- Total 56,170 including living.  Some Birmingham Dowlings and Dowling related people added in a correspondence hunt.

5 August 2016:- Total 56,159 including living. A few sources for existing people and lots of hunting but not finding.  I suspect there are some gaps in the Kilkenny baptisms so may have to close down the hunt for the time being.  There are apparently Birmingham relatives to this line but none of the Birmingham census residents look obvious.

4 August 2016:- Total 56,157 including living. Chasing some more Kilkenny Dowlings in census and BMD's.

3 August 2016:- Total 56,154 including living. A few death index records that release individuals to be shown on the website.  Also a second marriage found which is always a lucky find (these are often difficult to find on purpose!)  A lot of military records for a William Dowling of Kilkenny to Glasgow which helped identify his father in the 1901 census.  Good day's hunting.

2 August 2016:- Total 56,148 including living. Sunday Triple Back Up.  Nicholas' birth received so added father, grandfather back to Kilkenny.  Some nice puzzles in and around Danesfort.

1 August 2016:- Total 56,128 including living.  More sources added around Joseph Dowling's family in Scotland. and contact back from correspondent who is looking for material for an Irish passport.  I will pass a link to Scotland's People so he can order the array of certificate's needed.

31 July 2016:- Total 56,120 including living. Interesting day looking for records and not finding, eventually drilling down on Scotland.  Scotland's People have lots of records but all are behind a pay to view firewall.  The indexes are often not quite enough to tip the decision into paying credits for a download - could this be deliberately tantalising to make money? If so, I am not sure it works because the credit system encourages me to avoid the site unless entirely stuck.  Anyway, in the end, a much firmer hypothesis is forming for Nicholas Dowling.
