30 September 2025:- Total 53,839 including living. Completed all Barnwell County, South Carolina Dowlings for 1870 census, they're all in there!
29 September 2025:- Total 53,820 including living. Some thoughtful work around the South Carolina census and people duplicated (which I have found quite common in the US Census). The work on this includes a lot of looking before and after the year of the duplication. It always ends in a judgement based on the hypothesis of best-fit taking into account that the records themselves can be incomplete.
28 September 2025:- Total 53,802 including living. Sunday Double Back Up. Just one South Carolina census today... so busy doing next to nothing. Time goes so fast now.
27 September 2025:- Total 53,791 including living. Topped and tailed a few families in Lancashire and refurbished a few old source entries in South Carolina. Lots of work to do but not feeling too well, my knees are becoming quite painful and I am not sure what causes it.
26 September 2025:- Total 53,782 including living. A day off gardening today and then I went to see David Essex in concert - a very respectable performance all things considered.
25 September 2025:- Total 53,782 including living. Still in Lancashire while waiting for the Irish records office to respond to a query.
24 September 2025:- Total 53,770 including living. More Lancashire sources mostly for existing people and bolstering up some older sources with images that I assume were not available when I last looked many years ago.
23 September 2025:- Total 53,763 including living. More sources, mostly for existing people added for Lancashire.
22 September 2025:- Total 53,754including living. A lot of sources and people added for Lancashire... this dynasty have been in the study for some time and I still haven't got back to an Irish origin as records are not great for the poorer miners and weavers in Lancashire.
21 September 2025:- Total 53,736including living. Sunday Double Back Up. A double back up backs up from my computer to a separate Network drive (that's on when I am working) and then backs up that to another separate Network drive that is switched on ONLY for a back up, then switched off straightaway... So theoretically it doesn't have too heavy use and is not prone to being hacked as it is not connected to the network. Went out visiting Harlow in Essex today for a day out.
20 September 2025:- Total 53,736including living. Sources from Lancashire connected to the set of WW2 medals I bought last month. Harold's marriage certificate came and I was able to connect him to a family already in the Study.
19 September 2025:- Total 53,721including living. Some tricky births and marriages where images are not available but, apparently, should be. Oh well, I am up to date with Mountmellick records, as far as they are available.
18 September 2025:- Total 53,715 including living. Mostly wood walking and in the garden but finished the update on all births, marriages and death from Abbeyleix, Laois. I rechecked Mountmellick and it seems some have been updated online so I need to revisit that district for sure.
17 September 2025:- Total 53,708 including living. Some Abbeyleix and Kilkenny records but mostly out visiting Hertford for a walk with my wife.
16 September 2025:- Total 53,695 including living. Abbeyleix births mostly 1922 to 1925, a with a few from Kilkenny.
15 September 2025:- Total 53,684 including living. Some hard-earned sources as I get to the bottom of a James Dowling who marries Eliza Somers and who is actually George Dowling in Carlow...
14 September 2025:- Total 53,682 including living. Sunday Double Back Up. Mostly 20 sources for existing people while I catch-up on the Laois births, marriages and deaths releases.
13 September 2025:- Total 53,668 including living. A lot of looking and not finding as I top n' tail a recent correspondent's tree so far. It's frustrating to not resolve issues that are within records but, I have ordered a certificate for an Irish death not available on line and hopefully that will provide some evidence that may make a hypothesis I have more of a realistic probability.
12 September 2025:- Total 53,658 including living. Mostly Westmeath Dowling/Cooney connections today. Following a request I thought I would reiterate here that, generally, 'living' people do not appear on this website unless: 1) they expressly ask to be, or 2) they have a significant world wide web public profile (i.e. for example, a famous person or celebrity whose name and details are all over the internet anyway.)
11 September 2025:- Total 53,637 including living. More from Kildare, a mix of parish and civil records.
10 September 2025:- Total 53,620 including living. More Kildare entries for Clinch and some Dowlings. A merge of 3 Dowlings in Scotland.
9 September 2025:- Total 53,606 including living. More gardening. A few Kildare entries but not a lot I find it difficult to do more than just one thing a day!
8 September 2025:- Total 53,601 including living. Mostly gardening today, tidying up for the coming winter. Added some Dublin and Naas births.
7 September 2025:- Total 53,574 including living. Sunday Double Back Up. More Dublin births for Dowling-related Haripur's and some tweaks.
6 September 2025:- Total 53,566 including living. Just a few Dublin births, deaths and marriages. Another day disappeared with garden shopping... I think shopping is quite a waste of time and doesn't actually amount to much exercise either... hardly any steps for the time spent!
5 September 2025:- Total 53,558 including living. Mostly Wexford sources for existing individuals... and gardening.
4 September 2025:- Total 53,557 including living. Small update on Keogh. Added an H(arold) Dowling from Lincolnshire as I bought his World War 2 medals or £40 on eBay (World War 2 medals don't have names on them but his four were in the original addressed cardboard box). More research to be done on him but I think he's from Lancashire. Also another Dublin family followed a little further back.

2 September 2025:- Total 53,512 including living. Just a few sources for Fennells… busy going nowhere today, I have no idea where my day went!
