Over the years, I have done some research on my family. Dolan is my maiden name. But various records indicate the name has been shown as Dooling, Doland, and Dowling. When I found that my great grandfather came from County Kerry, I had some professional geneology work done from a local there. It was she that indicated my family name probably started as Dowling, then changed over time and emigration to Dolan. We appear to have roots on the west coast of Kerry, Ballybunion to be exact. We also are related to Dee (great grandmother’s maiden name), Lynch, and Griffin. Looking forward to studying your website. 9Feb2024: Brian: Thank you for your prompt and informative e-mail. Over the years, I have done some research on my family. Dolan is my maiden name. But various records indicate the name has been shown as Dooling, Doland, and Dowling. When I found that my great grandfather came from County Kerry, I had some professional geneology work done from a local there. It was she that indicated my family name probably started as Dowling, then changed over time and emigration to Dolan. We appear to have roots on the west coast of Kerry, Ballybunion to be exact. When I found that my great grandfather came from County Kerry, I had some professional geneology work done from a local there. It was she that indicated my family name probably started as Dowling, then changed over time and emigration to Dolan. We appear to have roots on the west coast of Kerry, Ballybunion to be exact.
