My Dowling was Esther Dowling. She was born abt. 1805 and died 7 Jul 1871 in Maddenstown. She married Martin Carr (Jul 1797 poss. Kildare - 1868 Maddenstown). I am descended from one of their sons, Denis. He married Mary Elizabeth O'Brien (parents Thomas and Mary O'Reilly) in Salem, Massachusetts and both are buried in the same family plot at St Mary's Cemetery, Salem, Massachusetts. I have not been able to trace either one back any further. After looking over your website I now can see why with much of the Dowling lineages in County Laois. There are also several Carr families in the general vicinity of the Dowling Families in County Laois. Below is the link to my Ancestry tree. Follow the Carr lineage to the end and you'll find Dowling. I hope you can help me out and finally return Esther to her family! https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/tree/1031984/family?cfpid=-2011256665. Kindest regards, Cousin? Joe

Joe

Citation Detail: From: Joe Sprowl ; Sent: Thursday, October 5, 2023 3:39 PM; To: email address; Subject: Re: Dowling; Hello Brian, I've been working on my Dowling research for many years. Joe,
