   2) Original -E-mail:- 23Jul2019: Short answer is through atDNA triangulation on Ancestry.com and Y-111 test on FTDNA.
   - I initially discovered that my Y-DNA STRs do not match the corresponding "Wells" line on the FTDNA "Wells" surname project. My (now deceased) paternal grandfather matches my STRs. On FTDNA, my Y-DNA STRs match many "Downing/Downen/Downey" men with GD 5-6 (late 17th century). SNP is downstream of R-M222 (Irish).
   - A paternal great uncle and I have several atDNA matches with my 3rd paternal great-grandmother Rebecca Jane Alexander's line (Alexander), within expected cM range.
   - A paternal aunt and I atDNA-match a descendant of Benjamin Wells, in expected cM range for the half-cousin.
   - Several Wells relatives and I atDNA-match several descendants of James Dowling - within expected cM range.
   - James Dowling was the same age as Rebecca Jane Alexander and they lived in close proximity.
   I have not found any James Dowling direct male descendants willing to take a Y DNA test (nor have I found any who have taken an atDNA test). Mike
   Reply: Hi Mike, Looking at the WikiTree. Just in passing, Henry A Wells appears to marry Emily J Clarkson on 4 Nov 1896 in Camden, Camden, New Jersey, USA (FamilySearch has a transcript).
   Can you explain the history for me please as I cannot see all the records needed at the moment. Specifically, how Henry Alexander Wells is the son of James Dowling and not Benjamin Morrison Wells.

   Citation Text: The Reading Eagle Newspaper carried his obituary January 17, 1901, page 1. Excerpted as follows:
   
   Ernst Huge Christman, 1019 Cotton Street, died of heart failure at 12:45 am today, aged 50 years, 8 months and 7 days.
   Deceased was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and came to this country 31 years ago. He was a painter and paper-hanger by trade and carried on business for himself at the southwest corner of Maple and Cotton Streets. His widow Elizabeth and 2 daughters, Anna and Nettie* remain, besides several brothers and sisters in the old country. Deceased was a member of St. John's German Lutheran Church., the Wooden Ducks Association, and the Ancient Order of United Workmen.
   
   Reading Eagle Newspaper, January 19, 1901. Additional information page 1. Ernest Huge Christman, who died in this city, leaves 5 children by his first wife. All reside in New York.
