Citation Detail: From: Alison Welshman ; Sent: 12 December 2021 20:20; To: email address; Subject: -; (1) Hello from Scotland!! My great great grandfather was Patrick doolan. He left his wife and 13 children to go to usa to make us fortune, he wasn’t heard of again! I’ve been researching my family history for past few years and have lots of information I could share with you. Patrick doolan is the one person I don’t have a photo of yet. I know he is buried in Friendsville with Clara. My great grandmother was Elizabeth doolan. Can’t wait to hear from you! Alison (2) Hi Thanks so much for this, I am the opposite, I have all the details of the 13 children born here to Annie smith and Patrick doolan, my great granny Elizabeth being on of the youngest. What I didn’t have was much information on his family after he married Clara. What I have found is a photo of his grave. What relation are you to Patrick doolan? - Thanks Alison (3) Hi Brian, This is amazing, do you have any photos of Patrick doolan by any chance? Or if PJ? I have never been able to unveil any. Are you related to Karen lutz? So, Elizabeth (Lizzie) doolan was one of 13 children between Patrick doolan and Annie smith. My mum remembers her granny as the most wonderful woman who had the most awful life. I am in contact with another woman in scotland who’s great grandfather was John doolan, one of Lizzie brothers. I will attach a photo of them both. I also have a photo of Annie smith with 3 of her grand daughters (the oldest is my grandmother) taken in glasgow. Several of Annie and Patrick’s children emigrated to Canada (a small town called Paris, brant in Ontario). We know that Patrick’s father was born in ireland. Lastly, I also came across a book that tells the story of Claras daughter (Patrick doolans stepdaughter) and the apparent horrendous life they had with him, I have attached a photo of the book. Interested to hear what more you know.,

  5. [S707] SOURCE (Short):, Title: E-mails, Various, E-mail to Brian Thomas Dowling (1955-), Dowling, Citation Detail: E-mails from Sheba Cuzzort (REDACTED); circa 2000; (1)I have found out a little more about my father's father's family. My great grandfather Patrick Doolan came from Ireland he married a woman named Clara Meyers who had been married before and had three girls,Evora Meyers,Lou Meyers,Clara Meyers. After they got married they had one son named Patrick Doolan II born 6-15-1911 died 7-14-1994.Patrick Doolan II married Kate Yenger and had 4 kids,Patrick Doolan III,Kay Ann Brock nee Doolan,Albert Lee Doolan,Dennis Allen Doolan who died at 6 weeks of age from pneumonia. I got all this info from my aunt Kay Ann and have the numbers of some distant cousins to talk to tomorrow who know more.I really appreciate all your help. For the first time in months I finally feel like IM getting somewhere. At least now I know some names.Thank you for all your help.Who knows.......we may be related somewhere :) - Sincerely, Gwen Cuzzort nee Doolan, Miamisburg,Ohio USA (2) Hi Brian! Im feeling more optimistic everyday! I found out I had a few things wrong.Clara Meyers was married before Patrick, that much I told you, well her husband went out hunting on thanksgiving day and fell on his rifle and accidentally died.At the time she had 4 kids by him :Lou Meyers(female),Annie Meyers,Ida Meyers, and Bill Meyers. She married Patrick and had 3 more kids with him:Patrick Doolan II,Evora Doolan, and Clara Doolan.Lou Meyers has a daughter named Mary Jane McLaughlin and she is working on getting me dates and any info she can, she'll call me next week with her findings. My aunt Kay found my grandma and grandpa's marriage certificate so I now have the dates on them: Patrick James Doolan II married Katherine Ellen Yenger June 24,1938 in Newport Kentucky.Patrick Doolan II was born in West Virginia, not sure what city.By the way all the Patrick's were named Patrick James Doolan. I still havent found out much about my father's mother's side,Catherine Quinn-Bingamon,and Evanston Bingamon.I also cant seem to find anything on my great grandmother Gertrude Yenger. Do you know a web site where you can look up marriage certificates or anything on record in Ireland that I might look for my great great grandfather? My aunt also told me that Patrick II said his father suposedly left a wife behind in Ireland and might not have divorced her and may have left kids behind also.We dont know about that, its just something grandpa said he heard. My father and his brother are buried in a cemetery not far from here and IM going to try to get out there to see if there are anymore Doolan's in there. From what Ive heard so far it seems that after they came over from Ireland they pretty much settled here in Ohio. WEll I appreciate any help you can give me youve been great so far! Thank you for taking such an interest in my endeavor.Ive always been proud to be Irish/English and finally tracing it and having real proof means alot to me.Im also native american on my mothers side and supposedly on my fathers side also.I have an uncle larry who "thinks" that my great great grandfather on my dad's mom's side was some kind of tecumseh chief. We dont take too much stock in what uncle larry says tho he used to be a bit of a juicer.......laff.Well nice talking to you once again and talk to you soon. - Thanks Once Again, Gwen-My friends call me Sheba :)

HITLER - HIS IRISH RELATIVES

Hitler's family connections in Ireland are not generally known about. William Patrick Hitler, nephew of the German Fuehrer and son of the Dublin woman, Bridget Dowling was able to claim in 1937: "I am the only legal descendant of the Hitler Family".

Adolf Hitler's half brother, Alois, was working as a waiter in the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin, in 1909. He had been sent their by a London employment agency. His humble situation did not suit his vanity, however, and while off duty he posed as a wealthy hotelier on a European tour to study the industry of France, Belgium and the British Isles. His manner of dress reflected this fantasy. His suit and hat were of the latest fashion. A heavy gold watch-chain stretched across his cream coloured waistcoat. He wore two rings on his left little finger, one a diamond and the other a ruby. In addition he wore a pearl tie-pin, His moustache was of the handlebar variety- waxed and turned up at the ends. There was no place better than Dublin Horse Show to display such elegance. The nobility, the English and Irish sportsmen and tourists from all over the world provided a perfect background for Alois's dashing appearance.

While admiring the horses at the 1909 show, Alois struck up an idle conversation with two locals, William Dowling and his neighbour, Mr Tynan. Soon William's daughter, seventeen year old Bridget, took an interest, she was immediately fascinated by the handsome foreigner. 'Everything he said was so new and interesting that even his broken English seemed charming'. Later, Alois and Bridget met in the National Gallery, Dublin. Soon they were talking about getting married. Bridget's parents were so totally against the relationship that the couple eventually eloped and married in London on 3 June 1910. William Dowling threatened to appeal to the police and to have Alois arrested for kidnapping, but his wife dissuaded him from doing so. Peace was finally made about a year later when William Dowling went to Liverpool to be present at the baptism of his first grandchild, William Patrick Hitler.

Meanwhile, Adolf was going through the worst period in his life. He was sleeping rough or living in doss houses. Eventually he took up permanent residence in a hostel for men in Vienna. He made his living by beating carpets, carrying bags, shovelling snow and doing other menial labouring jobs. As time passed and Adolf rose to prominence, both Bridget and her son did their best to take advantage of the situation.
-----------------------------------------
"Bridget was swept off her feet by the charm of the debonair Austrian:
It was at the annual Dublin Horse Show. Everyone had come to see and buy the fine Irish horses - English and Irish sportsmen, the nobility, tourists from all over the world.
I always enjoyed going anywhere with my father, and I must confess that I was not unaware of the honour of being escorted by 'the best-looking fellow in the countryside', as he was generally described. Many eyes turned towards us: the tall Irishman and the girl in a white muslin dress with flounces and a blue sash. My white hat was ornamental with ostrich plumes, and I carried a parasol. This was the year 1909.
Father was discussing the horses with Mr Tynan, a neighbour, and presently they were talking with a handsome stranger dressed in a brown suit, a homburg hat and immaculate spats. To my interested eyes he represented the height of elegance according to the vogue at the start of the century.
A white ivory walking stick with a gold handle was hooked over his arm with inimitable dash. In his tie was a pearl pin, and two rings on his left little finger, one a diamond and one a ruby, added just the right note of lavishness. Across his cream coloured waistcoat a heavy gold chain stretched from one pocket to the other and his moustache were waxed and curled up right 'á la Kaiser.' He introduced himself as Alois Hitler from Austria.
I cannot deny that this stranger with his fine foreign manners and his debonair Viennese ways made a great impression on me. His conversation was quite different from that of the commonplace, hardworking farmers and their wives which made up the society I was accustomed to. Everything he said was so new to me and interesting that even his broken English seemed charming." (Bridget Hitler, Memoirs, pp. 17-18). Nicknamed 'Cece' by Alois after a portrait of St Cecilia he admired.2
