You are on the 2nd floor of the north-east tower.  We are not quite sure yet of the staircase arrangements for how you got here, but in front of you to the left is an opening to the second floor of the house above the barrel vault.  From out there you can access the dovecot which is above the stone ceiling of this room.

You can only go forward/left.
