You are on the 2nd floor above the barrel-vaulted hall below.  This area would have has a roof.  You are looking at the south-west corner of the north-east tower.  It has an entrance that leads to a  room which possibly had wooden stairs down.  Above this entrance is a stone roof and a dovecot.

The original had a high-viz surveyor in the door way and, as I have asked his permission to be shown I replaced him digitally with our Irish gentleman for scale.

You can go forward/right to the dovecot, or back carefully to the west window.
